BigHewer Posted December 9, 2024 #564861 Share Posted December 9, 2024 Quiz #297 - We're taking to the skies (again) in our latest quiz with a few questions about airlines in Thailand. Some toughies here. Regular players may remember the first "Airlines" quiz way back in Quiz #112. Here are some of the questions back then that didn't make it to the forum and landed in the 'too hard basket' instead. Enjoy the quiz folks and let us know how you get on. And now for the answers... SnapDragon Posted December 18, 2024 #565875 Share Posted December 18, 2024 Scored two. Not flown since 2016. The airplane was having a bad day. Paddy was looking out of the window when the Captain's announcement came over the tannoy. ''One of the four engines has packed up, Not to worry. We will be a little late getting to Bangkok though as we have to reduce speed.'' A little bit later came another announcement by the Captain, ' ''One of the three engines has packed up, Not to worry. We can carry on with two easily enough, but it means we will be quite late getting to Bangkok. Ten minutes later; another message. ''We will be very late getting to our destination, as we now have only one functioning engine.'' ''Bloody hell!'' Said Paddy. ''If the last one goes wrong we will be up here all day.''' 2 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/39690-thaiger-talk-quiz-297-airlines-in-thailand-2/#findComment-565875 Share on other sites

rattlesnake Posted December 18, 2024 #565881 Share Posted December 18, 2024 2/5. I know VietJet have gained more presence in Thailand in recent years, and often have the cheapest fares. Never flown with them, though. If people have experience with them, please share. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/39690-thaiger-talk-quiz-297-airlines-in-thailand-2/#findComment-565881 Share on other sites

Expand Osaka to Chiang Mai July this year. A breath of fresh air. All very smooth in every respect. Boarding, seats. service all good. Beats the hell out of Air Asia that’s for sure. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/39690-thaiger-talk-quiz-297-airlines-in-thailand-2/#findComment-565885 Share on other sites

Expand Curiously, the outbound sector Osaka-Chiang Mai has much higher demand than the return (Chiang Mai to Osaka). It could be that people have cottoned on that Chiang Mai is a better option as an entry point? In any event, Chiang Mai to Osaka at USD 160 to 200 is great value 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/39690-thaiger-talk-quiz-297-airlines-in-thailand-2/#findComment-565904 Share on other sites
NonThaiKiwi Posted December 21, 2024 #566242 Share Posted December 21, 2024 Only got one... Quite pitiful really. As an aside, did a jetstar flight from Swampy to Melbourne in Nov. Will not repeat that again. Overpriced food and drink. Used nokair a lot in the past and found them to be OK. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/39690-thaiger-talk-quiz-297-airlines-in-thailand-2/#findComment-566242 Share on other sites
