Recommended Posts

Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, the leader of the now-dissolved Future Forward Party, is facing new trouble with 2 new lese majeste charges. The charges come from statements he made months ago about AstraZeneca being produced domestically in Thailand by Siam Bioscience, a company wholly owned by a subsidiary of Crown Property Bureau. Section 112 of the Criminal Code, also known as the lese majeste law, makes it an offence to insult, defame, or criticise the monarchy and carries a penalty of up to 15 years’ imprisonment. Thanathorn had previously faced lese majeste charges over similar subject matter in March from when he […]

the current mob just wants him gone; he shouldnt come back at the moment; pity

Yep shit scared that he could conjure up a enough national support to totally rid this country of the corrupt and depraved dinosaurs.

They tried squeezing him on this already and it was thrown out by a court, according to the report.

How are they able to charge him with the same crime over the same incident.

Oooooh, that's right.  THIS is Thailand.

The idea that Thailand shouldn't rely on a single company isn't specific to Siam Bioscience. Having multiple suppliers is just plain common sense. That would be my defense for LM charges.

Do it.

You never know, it might just work!

Oh dear.

Doesn't this story get old?

Anything considered, or invented to be, Lese Majeste. And used intolerably to justify most everything.

The crux and essence of all issues and problems in our fair land.

Unfortunately, nothing will change until the roots are severed permanently.

They certainly want him out of the picture

Yeah. He was deemed to be a true threat some time back.

Akin to anyone that has a popular following and looking for real change.

Oddly enough, principle instigators/junior officers of the Progressive Movement Party [former FFP] are not looked upon as the same.....as they continue to ply their wares domestically. Never charged or mentioned.

Just another feeble attempt by the primister and his cronies to silence Thanathorn. The man is obviously a serious threat to them and capable of mustering massive opposition to Pryut's administration and his cronies . This will just fuel the protests even more because of the dissolving of the FUTURE FOWARD PARTY which ignited the protests in the first place ! Stupid move by the primister/government , but a moral booster for the opposition parties and the protesters !

....and there is only one influential crony - pulling the strings, per usual.

It would seem obvious that a monopoly by one company on vaccine production could hinder the supply of vaccines thereby allowing infections to run rampant thereby causing the destruction of the economy as well as the deaths of thousands of infected people.

So let me get this right: criticizing a private company is regarded as lese majeste just because the Crown Property Bureau holds shares in it?

So by this standard, writing a bad review on a Siam Kempinski hotel stay or criticizing the business practises of Siam Commercial Bank could result in a charge of lese majeste and imprisonment for 15 years...errrrr....

It's all quite ludicrous and insane.
