Great - more wasted money on the millions 'working' in public service pushing pens and paper shuffling while the economy goes more and more into decline. This will fix things right up - not.

So while everything is going up, you wish workers to stay with the same salaries, especially those with diploms? And what do you reckon workers do with that extra money (no quite a fortune)? Well they spend it, and that surely is not a bad thing for the economy. I say well done to the Thai government!

Good for you - no doubt you think taxpayers money is wisely spent in Thailand.  I bet you dont realise this is a 10% increase in the base salary of public servants, on top of the 10% that was awarded in May 2024 - their base level has gone from 15K to 18K in less than 2 years - do the math buddy.  And I bet you dont know that this will flow upwards across all other public service designations too. Stop believing the woke rubbish - this is not about workers and their salaries - there is no productivity gains or costs reductions - this is about the public servants getting their 'percentage'.

Right now the economy is struggling - but all I see and hear is stories like this one about the Thai Govt spending/wasting more and more money. It is as if they think they have a bottomless pit and they can just throw money at everything. The time will come when the economy will bite back. Winter is coming.

I would have replied to you with my opinion on the subject but then I stopped reading at the word "woke". I lost track of when (some) people have decided that from now on everyone is either woke or far-right regardless of the subject. In your world, there is nothing else.

I was talking with Aussie Bob about this very matter the other day. We agreed the only way to curb inflation and attract multinationals to set up shop in Thailand was to reduce the income of workers. Better still have the workers pay the multinationals for the privilege of having a job.

Not only would this guarantee full employment, it would allow the raggedy arsed, cheap Charlie expats, who provide zero benefits to the local economy, to go about their daily business sans the stress of having to shell out a little extra for life’s little luxuries.

Well, I have never thought of that. Well I agree too, this is the way to go.

So did I when I read "I would have replied" which was obviously then followed by another bunch of words in reply.  Very clear that the woke refuse to listen to or accept facts - such as they lost the election in USA etc. I recall a great quote (Socrates?) - "The truth matters - not your feelings about the truth."  I also recall the statement (Shapiro?) "Facts dont care about your feelings".

Obviously like Manu, you are woke liberal and not worth talking with - no facts just feelings (and personal abuse). Go to Bluesky and maybe there you will enjoy your woke liberal pedo echo chamber.

Just for those with some brains who have rational thoughts and opinions.

This 20% increase in base salary for the public servants, is 'balanced' by the following (Google Quote).

What Is the Minimum Wage in Thailand per Hour? As of 1 January 2024, the Ministry of Labor increased the minimum wage in Thailand by an average of 2.4%.
