Taking drugs and drinking alcohol is a life choice, if she then becomes a danger to others she needs locking up/rehabilitation. Sadly rehabilitation fails far more frequently than it succeeds.

Indeed Chris. Don't disagree with you.

But people are human after all. They get lonely. They get depressed. They do silly things.  Some turn to drink. Some turn to drugs. Some turn to religion.

But taking a kid for ice-cream is hardly on the same level as starting WW111.
