This is why driving a small car in Thailand, especially rural Thailand, is full of risk. Get a bigger car/truck just in case you 'meet' one of these 'drivers' and their poorly maintained vehicles.

A guy I know who lives in Isan had a Mazda 2 and was always on about how little it cost him to drive around. One day he witnessed a truck/ute demolish a small car in an accident. He bought a new truck/ute within a few weeks.
