While I agree that the behavior of these road users was inconsiderate and basically very rude, the shock and amazement of people not following the road rules conveyed in this article made me laugh a little bit.

I have ridden from Bangkok to Chang Mai and back many years ago, and ride in Hua Hin and Ao Nang regularly. And am surprised when I observe someone actually obeying the basic road rules and etiquette.

Best way to travel on the highways in Thailand on big bikes - block the road, so the Somchais dont kill you trying to overtake on the inside at 120Ks on a road when the 'speed limit' is 80-90Ks. Probably should only block the left lane though - but I can understand why they would do that. Many Thais think that all bikes should stay over on the left - they cant differentiate between real bikes and scooters.
