Hard to argue with this approach to responsible pet ownership. The missus scolds me whenever I am friendly to a street dog telling me not to encourage the dirty animals. In unrelated news she feeds the same street dogs because she accidentally buys excessive amounts of dog food that needs to be disposed of at least 1 year before the expiry date. All good for dog owners, but what about all the strays getting around? As a cyclist it’s a constant consideration when out on the bike. And rabies, unknown where I come from, is a thing here.

No chance of enforcing this even the traffic laws mandating the number of passengers on motorcycles and the wearing of crash helmets are largely ignored by the authorities and these are clearly visible and widespread every single day. Detecting whether dogs are microchipped is not visible and requires some effort by enforcement officers, not going to happen!
