"Philipp checked his wallet and found that his 4,000 baht in cash was intact. Consequently, he decided not to pursue legal action against Thawatchai. Police recorded Thawatchai’s criminal act but no legal charges or penalties were imposed."

And so another thieving ladyboy goes free despite confessing to a crime because the police and the farang victim can't be bothered to deal with it! Thieving ladyboys have been endemic in Pattaya for decades and the authorities seem to turn a blind eye to the problem.

That's the draw to pattaya... what would you do in pattaya without the ladyboys for entertainment?

The ladyboys are one of the reasons I don't go to Pattaya except VERY occasionally to visit a couple of the other half's relatives who live there.

I'd tell them to meet somewhere

That place is a dump with zero redeeming qualities.....

Thepprasit road at night is the only place in Thailand that I would call "unsafe". Junkie ladyboys roaming…

It's not perfect but it's not as bad as some people say… There are great places in the 50-km radius around Pattaya. I think Phuket is worse.

Ok

Pattaya City then

A complete shit whole dump

I love Phuket but do understand the criticisms....many are valid

But at the very least, every beach in Phuket blows away the beach in Pattaya

Let’s face it, you’re arguing Sodom over Gomorrah.

I don't know about that

I recognize Phuket has it's issues

(Although I seem to manage to not have those issues)

But take any Phuket beach town outside of Patong

Kamala, Kata, Karon

Pattaya doesn't have anything approaching that

But hey, if people like Pattaya....that's all that matters

Who gives a shit what I think of the dump 555

Not defending the actions off this hideous bloke dressed as a woman but that particular area on 2nd Road between the Avenue and Central Festival has been plagued by Afghani/Pakistani drug dealers for nearly a year now between mid afternoon and 01.00hrs that have also been indulgeing in a bit of pickpocketing whilst working in pairs to distrack folk much to the annoyance of local businesses, Expats and Tourists alike with very limited action by the authorities.

Lots of negativity on this tread a Pattaya being unsafe but after nearly 13 years of living here it's definitely the safest City I've ever been to.

Most of the Falang I see here that are victims of crime would be the same folk that would be victims of crime in their own Countries either of their box on drink or total Mongs unaware of their surroundings.

You're at more risk of getting clipped by a car or motorbike crossing the Soi in Pattaya than being a victim of crime.

There's no competing with Phuket's beaches, they are extraordinary. To me, Phuket is a beautiful apple which is rotten in the inside… but I met great people there (2011-2012) and have very fond memories of the place nonetheless.

What do you really know?  You don't live in either place... fact is you are an infrequent visitor to Thailand at best with no dog in the hunt.

The Russian invasion was one of the reasons why I left. And the French Arabs recreating their little vulgar enclave around Patong. Also the outrageous prices and the taxi mafia (perhaps the latter issue has been mitigated by Grab since).

I think that's a great anology

Although besides some very minor issues that you would have any place

I don't have any issues

But I don't go to Patong

I also think it might have to do with me being 52yrs old and not getting as worked up as I used to .....

What exactly do the Russians do to make it a shithole?

I frequent Phuket

Kamala primarily

I've never had or seen any issues with Russians

They are mostly families that keep to themselves

They aren't the most social or friendly people but that's their personality

I personally would rate the French Arabs way worse than Russians....

But we don't get them in Kamala except to drive by like maniacs and go to the way overpriced Beach Club DelMar

Me too, definitely. I didn't move 10,000 km away to put up with the same sc*mbags I grew up with.

My problem with Russians was quantitative more than anything else, there were too many of them (that's the nationalist in me speaking, I like Thailand to be populated by Thais 555).

I've never felt unsafe in Thailand, anywhere

And I don't care for Pattaya but never felt unsafe

Or anywhere in Asia, for that matter

I am going to Philippines for the 1st time in April

And I heard it can be a bit shady....
