How strange that you are a legal adult at 20 but can get married at 17… Thai logic strikes again, I did not know that one.

Isn't that pretty common all over the world??

 

US drinking age is 21

But legal age to marry is 18 

 

And can be younger with parental consent

Wow, that just does not make sense to me… Old enough to commit to an actual marriage, but not to buy a bloody drink??

In France, you have to be a legal adult (18) to get married, which makes sense to me and I assumed it was like that everywhere.

But I have just checked and the UK only just raised it to 18 last year, it used to be 16…
