Thaksin promised to fix BKK traffic over 20+ years ago. Maybe his daughter should finish the job instead of implementing of yet another tax? Governments solving problems, not profiting from them. Crazy idea, right. 

As it is second hand car yards are overwhelmed with inventory they can’t move. This is on the back of a series of government subsidies for the purchase of new cars in supporting the local automakers industry. No one foresaw the easy access to credit to buy these vehicles would facilitate an unprecedented level of loan defaults. Putting a halt to subsidies on new car purchases and taking some of the 80,000+ taxis off the road would be a good start to solving the traffic issue.
