News Forum - PM pledges to polish Phuket into a top-tier tourist hotspot
Humans don't live that long. Phuket is a scam ridden, criminal driven, expensive shit hole. I don't see that changing any time soon, even if they did deport all the extensive Russian criminal element, although that would be a good start. -

News Forum - Bangkok’s traffic gridlock gets a tech-tock fix
That's not the way it works here. In the West, the villages are where people live and from where they commute to work. In Thailand, the villages are important centers of local economic activity and commerce. Thats why the roads are designed as they are. It's horses for courses. -

News Forum - Thai tourism faces 20% drop in Chinese visitors amid safety fears
"security measures are in place..........." Well they aint working you numpties - more and more stories coming out of Thailand and Myanmar are about the Call Centre Scammers and Human Trafficking. It has got so bad in Thailand that many websites I could freely access in Australia, have blocked any IP traffic coming from Thailand - especially those selling things (like Carsales.com.au) which has personal details the scammers can access and use. Tourism to Thailand has dropped, and will probably continue to drop - mainly because Thailand is not seen as a 'safe' destination anymore (was it ever really). Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia are far more 'safe' than Thailand - for ordinary travelers. And with the high Baht they get more bang from their buck in those other locations. Thailand got 6 million 'foreign visitors' from China last year, and 5 million 'foreign visitors' from Malaysia. I bet the majority of those Malays were those crossing the land border each weekend/month. Likewise, I wonder how many Chinese visitors were here for business and family reasons. But TAT calls them all 'Tourists' and claims they spent Trillions of Baht. TAT averages the total money spent by the average Tourist (50+K Baht each) and then multiplies that by the number of foreign visitors. TAT are a total scam in the land of scammers - have you noticed how 'quiet' they are this year. Normally in January they are crowing loud and often about all the Tourists that they brought into the country last year - and asking for an increase in their annual 6-7 Billion Baht budget. It is unbelievable they are getting away with it - but as we all know, there are far worse wastes of taxpayer and Govt borrowed money going on in Thailand. -
