A woman looking for a quick payday. The chemical responsible for the spicy taste, capsaicin, doesn’t actually raise the temperature of your tongue, esophagus and throat etc. It tricks your brain into thinking you are eating something hot. So it creates a sensation of heat, without the tissue damage we associate with getting burnt.
