Gas bottles are perfectly safe when maintained correctly (under Test), stored or installed safely with braided rubber hose or approved pipe, and used as designed. 

Installed inside a closed environment with inadequate ventilation and drainage, connected with plastic hose within a few feet or even metres from ignition sources is extremely dangerous.
