The Boxwall flood barrier would not have been needed had the sluice gates which allow the water to drain, been adequately maintained. Great for the Shanghai-La hotel, but what about the 1000’s of others   needlessly effected?

Again REACTIVE instead of PROACTIVE response to a problem generated by Bangkok treating the rest of Thailand as a stepchild... open the sluice gates in a timely manner and control the flow... instead Bangkok's mayor convinced them to flood the north... no big deal.
