Not a shame, just stupid and selfish. His kids will not think kindly of him.

I don't disagree with that at all

You are right

He was a grown man and couldn't deal with a breakup and changed his kid's life forever

And part of me thinks his maturity was stunted because he was in the Thailand bar scene so long, warped his brain

Even though he had a very successful bar

I certainly have no desire to be involved in that scene as a business

Okay, well perhaps that is another American/European difference. Most people my age or younger whom I know (I am in my mid-forties) have between 0 and 1 child and this is an undeniable societal evolution, one of the factors of which is that having kids is not presented as an obvious, natural or desirable thing to do, with more focus on entertainment and self-gratification, "freedom" and lots of individuality.

Just earlier today I happened to see this on my phone feed and captured it to add it here. A symptom of the times…

It is definitely changed now in this generation

Even in Thailand they either have kids later or not as many or at all

But I am 52yrs old, people having 2/3 kids was still the norm then

So the only way to enjoy your life is to frequent bars and drink copious amount of alcohol, is that your view?

It's called a joke...

But from your posts, you really don't seem like the life of the party. 😀
