66 year old riding a Z900 extremely fast - not a smart thing to do - especially without a helmet.

You would have thought at 66 years old he'd have known better.  At that stage of life you should be speeding up.

Take it easy, relax and less of the adrenaline junkie type activities.

Ride a bike sure, but at a leisurely pace. There is no fire to put out.

What a waste of a life.

Looks like racing on public road and without proper rider safety gear. Just pack him and bury him.

The new  duel  road between Pattaya and Sattahip is impressive, and a great improvement, but it's an unregulated race track for bikes and cars, especially at night, and I have yet to see any Police patrolling it. It is also prone to flash flooding, adding to the danger.

66 is fairly old already. His life was 80% over.

I cocked up on my last post... Should have read at 66 you should not be speeding up.

Reaction times are slower as you age. Appears he may have forgotten that.

I've had 3 accidents on MB, not big bikes

1st one I was just inexperienced

The last two I was driving like an assh*le and way too fast

The last one, about 6 years ago I really was driving like an idiot and I probably should have gotten seriously hurt

I didn't luckily

Now, slow and steady and no need to go fast

IMO 40/50 km/h is the right speed in Thailand on most roads most of the time, 60/70 max on 3-lane roads, if they are not too busy and you can use the middle lane (and therefore anticipate any obstacles coming from the left or right).

I start getting a bit aware after 60km/h

My current little runabout is an older yamaha Mio 110cc scooter.

Took a little while to get it road worthy but now it's a good runner.  Replaced variator and belt recently.

Top speed is about 90kmph but will cruise at 80 quite happily.  But around town 30-50 is fast enough.

Only really open it up on the main road but am aware of it's limitations. I'm constantly checking mirrors for large trucks or buses approaching.

It's not really an open road bike but it's fun within it's limits.

Another Top Gun Maverick wannabe Falang it'll be interesting to see what his blood/alcohol level was after the autopsy proceedings.

I hate to sound disrespectful however after over 12 years in Pattaya pissed up Falang and motorbikes are a daily occurring theme.

Triggered! You’re as young as you feel. Maybe that’s why I now find the 25-30 year old bar girls more appealing.

He was probably trying to evade the hygiene police. Thailand has enacted a new law that all visitors must shower daily. The Brits are leaving in their droves.

It's not that old... Mid 70s is getting there.

I thought the saying was 'You're only as old as the women you feel'

Probably why I get slapped so often!

Heated!!

But it really is amazing that 60's really isn't that old these days

My Mom and her friends were ancient in their late 40's, early 50's

There's probably some truth in that. I remember French singer Hugues Aufray saying it. He married a woman 45 years his junior and at 95 he is still fit as a fiddle.

True that, I remember my grandad always looked old, but in the pics of him when I'm a baby he was only late 40s.

This is my Mom in her mid 40's

1st off, she looks like a Mafia wife! 555

But style and much less healthier living was the culprit

Love the JFK picture, with young Jr. saluting his dad's coffin.

Yeah, and I also think people in these days were more selfless, they often had more kids and would take care of more stuff at home, which resulted in less time (and will) to focus on themselves.

Big Kennedy household!

My Mom's uncle was JFK's and then Jackie's personal secretary

Was literally JFK's best friend.....

He was in the procession in Dallas when JFK got shot

This is his actual film from that day

Gyms and exercise weren't really a thing for adults back then

I honestly can't recall any adult in my life doing any sort of exercise when I was young

And don't discount the effects of cigarettes....people smoked like fiends back then

Very interesting… The comments under the video are interesting too.

As for exercise… Well, women in those days typically had 3 kids to take care of and a whole house to keep. The average couple in the 2020s, working behind a computer in an apartment, with between 0 and 1 child, has more time and inclination to go to the gym, definitely.

Which of these models is better is up for debate…

So if it's not old then riding motorbikes fast is fine then.

Make up your mind.
