IMO absolute BS.  Besides the millions of those walking/driving over the borders and those visiting for business/family reasons, there is no way every single 'arrival' spends 46K Baht in Thailand - and they are not all tourists who come over the borders.  Until Thailand pushes back on the BS that TAT claims (for their own bonuses), the economy is not going to recover.  For a start they should only count those arriving on planes and in ships, and only those with a tourist visa (or exemption).   3.7 million from Malaysia? How many day walkers popping over for a quickie or to visit family/friends for the weekend?
