It will not be built in 100 lifetimes. Why? geology, geography, fluid dynamics, ocean science and a host of as yet unknowns. The Panama Canal connects two wildly different oceans, through a series of inland waterways, locks and lakes. It is not a continuous connection because that would have been impossible. Connecting an ocean directly with a restricted, shallow Gulf is demonstrably impossible. There is a good reason why Nature hasn't done it already. Its an unrealistic pipedream, a fantasy, take your pick. -
