I know there's many more, maybe someone can add to the list

You don't need to build a wall.  The USA should do what many other countries do.  Make it impossible to live in the country.  Look at Thailand.  Do you really think you could very easily exist in the country being here illegally?

1. Pass and enforce laws that make it illegal to hire anyone who is not in the USA legally.  Stiff penalties on employers for violating the law and prison for repeat offenders.

2. Make it illegal for any financial institution to open an account, or transact any business with anyone who does not have documents giving them legal status in the country

3. Require that all employers pay wages via electronic deposit in order for wages to be deductible on the company tax return.

4. Pass a law requiring that all hotels, apartments and homes require documentation that the person lodging has documentation proving they are in the country legally.

5. Pass a law that prohibits any dealer or owner from transferring ownership of an automobile, mobile, home, or home to a person who can not present documentation that they are in the country legally.

Now if you cant find a job, can't find a place to live, can't open a bank account illegals will self deport finding it impossible to live in the country.

All this proves is that the powers in the USA pay lip service to the problems of illegal "invasion" If they really wanted to solve the problem, they easily could.  They don't even enforce the weak laws already on the books.

In the caravans of people coming to the USA 75% did not possess the equivalent of a U.S. grade school education.  The vast majority could not speak English.  Now tell me, in today's modern technology how these people can obtain employment earning enough to legally support themselves.  The cost of a single child's education in the USA is approximate $12,000 USD per year from age 5 - 18. This does not include any supplemental costs necessary to assist those children because they don't speak English.

With these illegals having 2 - 6 children how is society not going to be burdened by just the educational costs, saying nothing of the additional other social services.

Bottom line, you want to help those people.  Help the regions they live in.  Otherwise all you are doing is transferring their problems into the USA and next year the problems in those countries is not any better and you have the next generation of foreigners heading to the border to enter illegally.

I still keep in touch with my ex here and she recently tried to renew her 10 year multi-entry U.S. tourist visa and was denied. She never overstayed or broke any other rule on her previous visa, had received and traveled to EU in the past as well as many other countries around Asia.

I tried to explain to her the situation of how it works in America and she had a hard time believing what I was saying in regards to how racist the policy is....if you need to come by plane you have to follow the rules, break across a land border with the help of some friendly Catholic charities then its all good. Anyone who plays by the rules, waits their turn, pays all the fees, etc etc is a fool when millions just walk right in every day.

The whole thing is a farce and at this point I am actually hoping the entire rotten system implodes on itself which seems increasingly more likely at each passing day.

Well if she is your ex, what would be here reason to travel to the US now?

I think the US is very generous in handing out 10yr visitor visas, but they hand them out to people who have connections to the US, not come and go as they please tourists

Correct me if I am wrong, what 10 year visa do you have in Thailand?

Marc, she has no other friends or family in the US right?

It's a tourist visa...for TOURISTS to come and go as they please.

For all its faults Thailand still lets people come and go if even on a short term basis, you were even able to abuse border runs for a very long time.

My entire point was that the people who play by the rules, apply for the visa, do the background check, pay the fee's are told to get fu*ked while certain other groups just get to walk right in. It is criminal and you and everyone else knows it. Its a GIANT FU to everyone who waited in line and played by the rules.

It is to colonialist Brits. Pah, Myanmar!!

All Brits are colonialist ??

Burma sounds far more attractive than Me-an-mar.

.....and as for Myanmarese pythons.........Pah! indeed

Yeah really. Look at the list of 90 former British colonies on the website below. A vast majority would be much better if the British were still there.

Many of those places got their ethnic pride back but in return a bunch of corrupt incompetent leaders/rules, a tiny elite class with a huge poverty class and virtually no middle class, a dysfunctional society with no order or rule of law, oh and I guess 4 people in the Olympics playing ping pong or boxing.

What other country gives out 10 year tourist visas? Yes, it is a tourist/visitor visa but in all my experience with it, it is mostly given to people with family connections in the US, people don't just get 10yr visas in perpetuality.

Funny that you advocate abusing visas when it suits your needs, yet all of a sudden talk about rules.....

There is nothing criminal about it,
