Certain destinations seem to attract more of dropkick subclass. IMO I think it depends on their reasons for being there as well as what’s on the menu. 

Chiang Mai for example is swamped with tourists but you’re far less likely to encounter a numpty. On a smaller scale, Kanchanaburi attracts a much better class of visitor. 

A lot of ning nongs in the all-cost beach and booze destinations but they are still good craic.
