Love one's in Thailand and no vaccine in near future

The Thai government should consider allowing foreigners with the means to purchase vaccine for their loved ones in Thailand. Purchase from where ever  it can be bought from. If I have 10 family members in Thailand then i want to buy 20 doses for them and would buy an additional 20 doses donated to others in Thailand. I would gladly jump on a flight from USA with my cooler of vaccines and dry ice and deliver to a hospital for vaccinations. I don't know for sure how or where i could buy the vaccines but I am tired of waiting and it could be another 6 to 12 months for my loved ones to get the vaccine or get covid, I want to do whatever it takes

Sadly, you can neither export the vaccines from the US or import them into Thailand. However, you can export your loved ones from Thailand to the US and get them the shots for free. This is a dilemma for people in Thailand as well. I know some who have taken the vaccine-vacation and some who are just patiently waiting.

Here is a bit of good news...

"Ending the COVID-19 pandemic will require long-lived immunity to SARS-CoV-2. Here, we evaluate 254 COVID-19 patients longitudinally up to eight months and find durable broad-based immune responses."

James thanks for reply but the loved ones have not been vaccinated, the USA will not let them in.

The Thai govt. should find a legal way to allow a private person to bring in certified vaccines and have a licensed doctor or hospital administer

Not true. You just need a negative COVID test. I've had five Thai friends that traveled from Thailand, got their shots over three weeks or so, and then flew back. Most recent arrival was maybe ten days ago, earliest back in June. Done on tourist visas and they didn't get charged for the shots.

What the government should do and what they do do are poles apart in Thailand so stop day dreaming

One ray of hope is that immunizations are proceeding much better as of late and more vaccine seems to be available in more places this month.   Until then best advise you can provide is they stay away from others as much as possible and keep up good health (most cases are not serious to those below old age - although that is not saying it is not a danger to everyone as it could be - just the odds are in our favor).  And perhaps not to worry too much as that may be an even larger danger.

The Thai governent doesn't care about private people, especially farang and their families.

There are thousands of foreigners in the country that would be happy to pay for the vaccinations of them and their families, whether they purchase the vaccines here or overseas, but the Thai government isn't going to let that happen, because they begin to relinquish control.

You have our sympathy.  We are in the same boat.  But you're beating a dead horse here.
