Kissana reiterated the course of events that led to the 14 year old’s injured hand, that is, the firecracker exploded pre-throwing. An unnamed police source says the teenager was adorned in a vocational student’s workshop […]

Well part of the report states he was receiving attention for his severely injured hand and another states he had it blown off so presumably they tested the hand for covid also separately ? ?

' . . . The police spokesperson dismissed the report that police forced the teenager to hold onto the firecracker until it exploded as fake news.'

Fake news, eh? . . . Hmm. Having as good as opened the 'fake news' can of worms, looks like the police will be ready to explain much of their questionable behaviour as such. One cannot be blamed for such sceptical musings.

Fair point, @K C, but to be fair to the BiB they had to either deny it or ignore it, so they're damned either way.

Whatever they do, they're going to be wrong.

The idea that he was so close to the BiB that when he lit the "firecracker" a snatch squad could sprint out into the crowd, grab him, hold his hand closed over it until it went off, then let him go and sprint back, is just a bit far-fetched - and that that was reported, whoever by, indicates just how imaginative some of these reports are.
