In Thailand, the broadband scene is dominated by two major players who also control a large chunk of the cellular and 5G markets.

Monopoly and dominance due to mergeres and acquisitions...nothing can be done as long as the monopoly is squashed.

So?  I don't see the problem, because there isn't a problem.  Broadband and internet services here are cheap, reliable, widely available, even in far flung rural areas and well invested.  The services beat the UK out of the park, same for the US and Cañada.  Monopolies are only an issue if there is an abuse of that position.,  I see no abuse here, quite the contrary. Don't try to fix what isn't broken.

This is partly true.

The internet in the area goes off regularly. Checked it this morning and it read 15 meg down; but 250 meg up. Sometimes it can be very good. A couple of days ago and it read;;;

Sometimes I want to know why the www is so snail-like. Is it my computer settings? Too many users? Like to check.

Sounds fair.  If Mrs and me can both watch Netflix at the same time, I'm happy.  Not bad, a fiber service for 525 Baht a month.  It's a bargain in comparison to UK.
