Looking at google earth timeline pictures, checking with pictures from the afterdays:

For years, the Big Buddha sealed area has flushed most of the rainwater just over the edges of the sealed area.

And the starting point of this landslide is the very new concrete area/parking ground near the big building.

That was for years a drop area for overburden or even for sand for construction purposes.

This oandslide is manmade, careless construction on top of the  BigBuddha Hill.

Hope, they will really investigate that desaster.

Just expecting already an extra amount of manila envelopes in the rotation.

Anyhow, is there no drone pilot anymore on Phuket?

I have not found a actual drone video, that gives a real steady view from the top, where it all started.

The main problem is most of the high land surface are only gravel and soil. It is not rock solid bottom. Any disturbance to the soil will eventually give way. It not only happening in Phuket. It is happening in many parts of the world as those haves wanted to bring nature into their living room, which is the main reason for such disaster.

And in another thaiger news, not open in the forum (??), they found out, that at Bjg Buddha, instead of "just" 24000sqm, they occupied and sealed 32000 sqm. 33% more, as for the project granted. Used for buildings and additional parking.

There arent many areas, aside the one where the slide started, where they could have stolen national land.

That is the furthest away from  the Big Buddha project.

Aside, that they could have known that for years, just by measuring google earth pictures, that are also 8000 sqm more area, where rainwater is flushing straight over the edge. And down the slope.

I am just still not a believer in a stringent investigation till the end. The Big Buddha Foundation people are rich and influent people, and tit.
