I worked in Thailand for 12 months in 2007-2008 and was covered by the Thai SSO health insurance. 750THB was deducted from my monthly salary automatically.

After finishing the contract you have 6 months to register to continue being in the SSO health insurance for the rest of your life, 432THB is deducted from your bank account per month and you stay in it forever. A yellow house book and pink ID is needed in some officed, apparently. Anyway, I didn't do this in 2008 as was leaving the country at the end of the contract.

You need to have worked for 12 months, and have 6 months to register.

My question is....

If I work here on a 6 month contract, when that ends, will the SSO office add the 6 months to the 12 months worked 16 years ago, and I can register to continue to be in the SSO for the rest of my life? Or does it need to be 12 months worked in the year before applying to continue, in which case my 6 months work and payment into the system won't be enough?

Basically, will I need to work for a full 12 months to be in it for life.... or.... if I work for less than 12 months in 2024/25 they will add in my 12 months of work and SSO payments from 2008 for a total of say 18 months and I can then register to stay in the SSO for life?

Contributed for 12 months in 2008.

Didn't apply to remain in the SSO.

Contributes for 6 months in 2025.

Can apply to remain in the SSO using the previous 12 months contributions that were made in 2008?
