First learned about Durian many years ago when staying at a hotel that had this sign.

Asked the Missus and she explained (with difficulty) about the smell.

When I finally smelt one it was 'unique' (dead dog meets dead fish meets sewer) and I have avoided it ever since - and it is banned from ever entering the house.  I hear there are less smelly versions, but I dont care.
