Back home the banks indemnify the consumer for any losses incurred through internet scams where reasonable steps have been made by the bank customer to protect against losses. Sadly, you’re on your here in Thailand. It’s a good reason not to transfer your entire savings to a bank in Thailand. Amongst other compelling reasons.

Khunmark, I agree with you on that.  Just last month I noticed fraudulent activity on my NZ debit card.

Basically these toe rags had emptied my account by purchasing stuff online from a department store in NZ.

I was able to contact the bank on the same day and start the process of recovery.  It took just on a week to get the money back.

Mastercard has that policy with their cards.  If you follow all normal security protocols with your card and prove a transaction is fraudulent then they guarantee to refund the money.

Thailand banks... You get zip, nada, F. all.   Very sad state of affairs.
