Sadly BA has long now been at best a very mediocre carrier with levels of service more on a par with low cost carriers but without the benefits of the lower fares. I suppose though on the up side any increase in seat availability should create a bit more competition and help to keep prices down a bit.

I have to agree with you on how BA has deteriorated over the last two decades - their business class product is still OK, but can't compete with the likes of Qatar and Emirates, and is not worth the premium price. And that is from someone who worked for BA for over 25 years, in the 1970's, 80's, and 90's.
