Ahh yes Pattaya that resort they are always claiming is such a family friendly place

It is, if you frequent the right places and stay away from others. Majorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, certain Greek locations such as Mikonos, Aya Napa in Cyprus, just to mention a few in Europe,  are not as family friendly as Pattaya.

Do all those places repeatedly claim to be family friendly?

I think Pattaya is all things to all people including a good place to take a family holiday. Some caution is advisable when choosing where to stay.

Certainly in most of the places you mention above you can walk along side the beach in the evening without there being a prostitute/ladyboy plying for hire approx every 2 metres.
