3/5 here, not too bad…
Regarding question 3, actually you can cross provincial borders, but you have to write all relevant info about your trip in a special book, and cops will stop you systematically to check. A few years ago, I did a round trip Pattaya-Ubon (1,600+ km) with red plates.
