Nina Jankowicz would occupied the short-lived position of the Department of Homeland Security's "Information Czar" of the DHS Disinformation Governance Board has lost her court case in the state of Delaware where she had filed a defamation suit against detractors at Fox News who referred to her as a "censor."

In his ruling dismissing the case, Delaware Democrat Judge Judge Colm Connolly forwarded this comment regarding the use of the term "censor" as protected opinion:

“I agree that Jankowicz has not pleaded facts from which it could plausibly be inferred that the challenged statements regarding intended censorship by Jankowicz are not substantially true. On the contrary … censorship is commonly understood to encompass efforts to scrutinize and examine speech in order to suppress certain communications.

“The Disinformation Governance Board was formed precisely to examine citizens’ speech and, in coordination with the private sector, identify ‘misinformation,’ ‘disinformation,’ and ‘malinformation.’ … that objective is fairly characterized as a form of censorship.”

Rack this one up as a clear win for the First Amendment protections of Freedom of Speech which still exists in the United States.
