The Japanese Airlines don't seem to get enough attention and praise for their excellent  service levels. They are at least the equal of the best in Asia, and arguably, among the Middle East airlines.  and well worth a look, especially for those flying to North America and intra Asia.  Not so convenient for European destinations of course, but still worth a look. The Polar Flights are spectacular.

Load factors (assuming that that is what they actually mean, the percentage of available seats occupied) are not a very useful measure without knowing about the capacity. Is capacity back to 2019 levels as well, with the same number of flights and the same or similar sized aircraft?

Unfortunately, the Japanese routes have the worst departure times. If you are connecting via NRT the flights primarily leave 7-9:30 Am or super late 10:30pm -2:00 AM. The late departures leave you exhausted because the flights are too short to allow a decent nap. I hate having to get up at 4 am to be ready for the 8 AM NH flight. I sometimes fly the BKK-HND route, but its a total hassle, only 2 sane departure times available and they are expensive flights; NH leaves at 9:35 AM arriving 6 PM and TG leaves 1 PM arriving 9:PM. By the time you go through immigration , collect bag and check in at hotel, it's late. Then you have to checkout and take the bus to Narita and wait for a few hours because all the North America flights leave late afternoon, early evening. (And no I didn't consider  Thai Asia as it isn't  in the same quality group as the mainline carriers.)

The Japanese airports are wonderful though and OTP and bag delivery are fantastic.

I think the Japanese airlines are well rated

 

Although they say Japan Airlines is the #1 rated economy and I thought it was dreadful flying back on them in May

Oldest planes I have been on in a long time.....

The 2nd flight I had to put the blanket down on the seat because it felt like I was sitting on metal, the seat was so worn

 

I love ANA

And they had a great connecting time in Haneda before Covid

I would land in Haneda at 6pm and depart at 2am to BKK

 

So I would actually go out into Kamata Station just 20mins away

 

 

I don't knwo exactly what part of Narita my Vancouver flight departs from but it's not a very nice area....to be honest 

 

But overall we love the Asian airlines and even choose to connect on them vs go direct on Air Canada
