I was quite surprised to see this, as I had always thought of Claremont as a reputable and responsible university. I was even more surprised as to why they would give such an award to Srettha.  Then I read this:

This award recognises his significant contributions to the public, the promotion of human development, and the advocacy of human rights.

And my eyebrows rose into my hairline because I couldn't imagine what would precipitate these conclusions because I couldn't think of one single thing he has done in any of these fields.  Not one.  And then:

The Thai premier is the first alumnus of Claremont Graduate University to receive this award.

Now, my confusion deepened even further.  A suspiciously spurious award given to someone that hasn't made any remarkable progress in the fields for which he is being recognized?  Something is incredibly fishy here and it's sad to see Claremont dragged down in this manner.

Someone is working hard, and ineffectively it would seem, to rehabilitate this growing opinion that Srettha and his administration have done F all to benefit Thailand.  He's gotten lots of travel experience but the country continues to slide economically due to the lack of vision and progress from him and Pheu Thai.  Al the newly minted awards in the world aren't going to change that fact.
