Just wondering what kind of stronger actions are they going to take for transboundray haze where those within the country are continuing buring after harvest? Further this buring has been going on for decades. What are they going to do. No one can do anything. Each time they burn in sumatra, we Malaysians are badly affected. What can the government do. They only can highlight to the other country authorities. And if any local company have shares or partnership then can take action on them. Apart from that, just only continue to in-hale and ex-hale only.

Indeed - aside from carpet bombing their crop fields - what can Thailand do.

One thing I would try is to have all corn etc. from those countries banned on the world stage.  At the least I would impose a massive import taxation on them, and seek other countries to do the same.  If that was done, that would force the Govts over there to at least try to stop the farmers burning.  Education does not work - punishment does - so punish them and THEN educate them.

To me certain knowledge, Thailand has been spouting this for the past 40 years and done and achieved nothing.  That's what happens when your local 'friends' are Dictators and/or Military governments; nothing. If they had invested in local incinerator plants instead,  at least they could stay on the moral high ground, but they didn't.

I love it!

:classic_angry: "The dangerous PM2.5 isn't Thailands fault!!! Grrrrrr!  It's all the country's around Thailand!  Grrrrrr!"

Yeah, Thailand's sugar cane burning and forest arson don't cause any problems at all. It's all those other countries!  "Grrrrrr"  <laughs>
