Irresponsible approach. Are the dogs being retired because they were not up to the role, or for health reasons, e.g. injuries? Because a well trained dog  develops a bond with its handler, typically the dog is homed with the handler, or family. Programs exist in western countries for the adoption of retired service use animals. It looks like Thailand is selling off the dogs with no concern to who will be purchasing them. For all they know they could end up used for the sickening dogfighting gambling rings that plague Thailand.

Responsible approach. These are not pets, they are employees that didn’t pass the test. Maybe the handler couldn’t take the rejected dog as they have a new work dog to bond with. My only criticism is the prices are too low. Crank it up to weed out the people who cannot afford to care properly for a dog. We paid 5,000 baht for our dog and, years later, 35,000 to get his injured eye removed including follow ups. He looked like a spoilt pirate.

Definitely seems a strange one these MWD's (Military Working Dogs) take a lot of time and effort to train along with feeding and vets bills.

Most NATO Countries have a re-homing procedure for MWD's mostly with Ex Handlers when they come to the end of their service life's. 

Hopefully these Pups go to good homes.
