I love Nai Harn beach, it's my favourite beach in Thailand, but I've seen some nasty stuff happen there. Witnessed lifeguards and some good samaritans try to rescue a drowning kid (who died), witnessed a few other successful rescues too. Saw a kid once get a jellyfish sting on his neck that was so bad and so swollen it was suffocating him.

In each instance, flags were up warning not to go in the water. There were still throngs of people, almost exclusively tourists, out swimming.

" Initially, the beach was marked with yellow and red flags, but these were later changed to red flags, indicating dangerous conditions."

Chose to ignore the warnings now probably dead. No ones fault but his own, glad the kid was saved.
