That is more than the profit on the  vehicles.

The likelihood of a drop off in Mercedes new vehicle sales may reflect the non return of previous clients once they discover the built in obsolescence of the vehicles and the cost of repairs once the warranty expires. Mercedes, BMW, Audi all have the same issues.  Toyota, Hyundai and Honda remain popular because they are relatively well constructed, cost effective to repair and are reliable. Many of the luxury models are constructed in such a way that repairing or replacing an inexpensive part requires the dismantling of engine compartments, including rocker panels, bumpers etc.

To be honest...continental are not for long term usage. They will rip you off once the warranty is over. Even during waranty, their service always sucks. Based on my personal experience with one branded conti car service....
1. They change the 10k km regular service to 20k km,
2. Once after service the failed to bolt all the false bottom engine compartment cover, when took them back, they claim it was due to a small bush branch which is less than my pinky has caused all the 5 font bolts fly, to which I asked a written report, yet to receive after years
3. They charge separate service charge for each work carriedout on the car eventhough all the work are done during one stipulated schedule service day
4. They leave their tools in the engine compartment after finishing service only to find later due to the rattling noice from the engine complartment
5. After the last warranty service, when took to the specialists work-shop to check, the engine oil poured like tar when draining it. It has basically gone to a semi gel state from oil state.

That is the end of conti in my life......no more conti.
