A country cannot be leading in everything on earth. You gain some and loose some. In the end it is the net growth that makes the difference. Thailand is fully focussing on tourism. It is good for the country to focus on that if that is vital for the economical growth. No one can deny the fact that Thai girls are making more money at Pattaya than working in those electronic factories. 

Always have to remember that if a person wanted to drink porridge then should ignore the fact that the mustache and beard get smeared with porridge. Can have only one either forgo the drinking of porridge or clean shave.
