This is the fate of many farangs who come to Thailand seeking young woman as companions. Once the money is finished these farangs have no choice but end up taking their own life.

Nothing in the story states that he was struggling for money though it does say he was struggling with depression a very debilitating mental illness. As to having "no choice", there is always a choice but of course depression would cloud the judgement.

Agree that there is nothing aboug struggle for money....but depression always starts when ends fail to meet. And the basic root cause for that is financial impact.

More nonsense. Depression is a mental illness. The deceased had an untreated illness. It ran its course and depression when severe,  and not managed, typically results in self harm. Whether he killed himself in Thailand or in the USA or in the Congo, the result was certain. It had nothing to do with money or a woman or Thailand. His interactions with money and with others were influenced by his illness, and not the other way around.

I disagree, my daughter works as a mental health psychologist with the National Health Service in the UK and has patients who are bot well off and not so well off. Loneliness can be a big driver of depression in older people for example and money does not make a difference.
