If they have wives in Thailand why do the officials are coordinating with French Embassy to contact their relatives?

• Police say the two Frenchmen were working at their office before the crash.
• One of the men’s wives asked them to return home as it was getting late.

Sure seems odd that they'd be working at the office until 4.40 am and a wife saying. come home, it's getting late.  Granted, one can't be certain but the facts don't seem to quite add up.  Sounds more like they were hitting the bars.

Unlikely but not impossible, one of my sons works for an international company and though he is based in London he often has to be dealing with clients or on zoom calls in vastly different time zones either late at night or early morning.

Yup.  Very true.  I've done the same myself.  That's why I didn't flat out call BS on the facts.
