It is better for her to dispose the property and invest the money in some other asset which can generate regular income for her. Leaving an empty house for years without any caretaker is asking for trouble. She is lucky that the occupants never cause any damage to the house. They just change the set-up to suit their needs. Looks like she has gone for few years and not months as per her claim.
