Would any writer have pointed out if she happened to be a lesbian or a gay man? And the story is irrelevant to human sexuality? In Thailand, there is no subculture, of weird bearded 'women' with penises, going into women's toilets.... they're known as what they present as, no such wilful ambiguity. Seems an irrelevant detail to emphasize.

Clickbait with an agenda.

And I never fail to inwardly cringe, as a former journalist, every time I see a phrase like "Asim’s apprehension is the culmination of a coordinated effort between the Immigration Bureau and the local Phetcha Buri police."  Yeah, right.  They were charged, entered into a database and it popped up on the IO's screen.  Lots of coordinated effort there. 

It's like really poor PR instead of news reporting.
