I don't use these apps often but every time that I do, I am prompted to input a pick up place and a destination.  I then approve that trip before getting my price and approval. My driver works off of that information, and I've watched them follow their little map on their phone.

Sounds like this woman input the wrong information, if the driver was working off the app.  I can't see how he would mistake one airport for another, otherwise.

Sounds like an easy mistake, and it probably happens more often than you might think. And the price of a flight ticket, or God forbid, a package holiday, is not trivial.

Sympathetic though I feel towards cabbies, This is one thing only the driver can ever be accountable for. Assuming the passenger communicated the location correctly, It's not her fault, although she loses. Can't blame the airline either.

A similar situation befell me in Guyana, when I had to fly from that country, to Barbados for a connecting flight. Wasn't taking me to the wrong airport but the wrong route, nonetheless. (The airline let me reschedule for a fraction of the cost, fortunately.)
