That 'clapped out Pattaya Bar Girl' may well have supported her destitute family for years and had the very worst start to life it's possible to have.  Don't make the common mistake and put them all into the same stereotypical box that Westerns, with their entitled Western heads on, tend to do.

I would in no way dispute that, my point was that this guy knows what he is getting whereas many others end up married to what they think are innocent lasses but are in fact to all intense and purposes well used prostitutes.

I am not making any mistakes, I know a few ex 'bar girls' some of whom as you say were supporting family back up north (and of course the familly 'officially' had no idea what job they really did in Bangkok/Pattaya/Phuket). I also know some ex bar girls who did it for the 'easy money' and the lazy lifestyle.
