Quality tourists - exactly what Thailand wanted and got. Until TAT is investigated and disbanded, the TAT lie that 1 million tourists equals X Billion baht to the economy, will continue to be believed. The number is an estimate, based upon very conflated figures made prior to Covid. TAT claims that 1 tourist equals 52,000 Baht - and that includes all the border crosses (foreign arrivals) from Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia. Until this country has Laws that allows journalists to expose and question fraud and corruption in Government Agencies, then this daily expose of tourists causing problems will continue.
