It seems to be very common for Thai stepfathers to physically abuse male children and sexually abuse female children and sadly in both cases for the mothers to make excuses for them. Sad state of affairs.

Question to Members:  If you observed this, would you intervene? I would like to think that I would, but its risky.

If I witnessed a man physically assaulting a woman or child and I could assist in stopping the assault, I would do so without hesitation, and if I could, I would administer some street justice to the perp for their disrespect of their victim. In the case of a known sexual assault of a child, well, depending on the circumstances and if any cameras were around, you know what I mean.

I hear what you say about it being risky but I honestly don't think I could stop myself intervening it would be instinctive.

in London, many years ago, I intervened when a man was punching his wife, openly, in the street.  I stepped between them and then they both turned on me. Not the same as this case, but the risk is ever there that things will turn out badly, as Thais are not  at all adverse to using guns and knives.

Yes as a London hotel security and safety manager I too have on many occasions stepped in to prevent violence between married couples and yes often they will both turn on you but I still could not walk by and do nothing.
