Singapore?  Really?

Suicides in Singapore rose nearly 26 percent last year to their highest level in more than two decades, reflecting the "unseen mental distress" in the city-state, according to a local NGO.

The among aged 10-29 and aged 70-79 were particularly concerning, the prevention center Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) said in its annual press release containing statistics on the issue.  https://medicalxpress.com/news/2023-07-suicides-singapore-year-high.html

That doesn't sound like such a happy place.

What place do you think would be the happiest in Asia

 

I went down the list and was hard to think which one would be

 

There is a lot of darkness sort of swept under the rug in Asia, IMO

A small , small group have mental illness. It happens in Finland too and it is happiest in the world. Singapore people are indeed happy. Everything works and you can drink the water.

It should have been mentioned that Taiwan ranked at #31, just one spot lower than Singapore, handily beating Japan and S. Korea at #51 and #52 respectively, and China and Hong Kong at #60 and #86(!) respectively.

Asia can be a rat race for a lot of it's residents
