Swiss men are certainly making names for themselves this week in Thailand.

There is no excuse for this guy's behavior.  Incarceration and deportation, along with a hefty amount of his money given to his victim seems most appropriate.

Very disappointed to hear this news again regarding Foreign Nationals and I  cannot understand why because they know they cannot do this in their own countries. I enjoy living in Thailand and I accept that I am a guest and abide by the rules in Thailand and as a Farang we do not need these people in Thailand and they should be deported and not allowed back to Thailand

Just finished reading the stories in the Bangkok Post, The Nation and Thai PBS about this incident.

It appears his repugnant personality and demeanor were on full display even after being hauled off to the police station, refusing to sign acknowledging the charges or even get fingerprinted.  He wouldn't answer questions or even talk.

I feel sorry for his Thai wife because she's going to be alone for a long time.

Quick trial, years behind bars in a Thai prison and then escorted to the border.  He and his ilk make all of us foreigners look bad and are suspect, in the eyes of Thais.

Deportation is too easy.  He should spend a long time in prison before being deported.

How long was he allowed to sit there massaging his distended belly?  Why does he think he can simply go home?  I hope he is made an example of.  He should not be a free man in any jurisdiction.

Well no one should sign anything report that is just in Thai(which I assume this likely was) without legal representation

Good advice.  Maybe why he didn't say anything too.  I still hope he faces very harsh penalties.

I can assure the editorial staff that there is no danger when drinking swiss tap (drinking) water.

An increase of aggressive behavior is of multiple factors.

This incident on the current facts look worse than the other Swiss woman beater in Phuket there can been no justification for assaulting an 58 year old disabled woman in a Supermarket especially given the fact he's here on a retirement visa not a 2 week tourist. 

If this cretin wants to behave like that he'd be better to pack his bag an emigrate to a Democrat Sanctuary City in The US where this sort of behaviour is tolerated.

Inexcusable what the Swiss did,  but I can’t believe the incident occurred without provocation, no matter how minor. Again, it’s not an excuse for the assault, but come on, I’ve personally seen the arrogance and entitlement that some Thai women display in malls and markets. The editorial staff for Thaiger needs to research their articles with more facts, and less “he said” , “she said”.   But I agree that the  man should face compensation requirements and jail time and ban  for his excessive reaction or retaliation.

That's no excuse for physically assaulting someone. There are far better ways to resolve confrontation.

Not really. What have we seen in the past few months? 3 incidents? And yet, going unreported are the multiple white trash events of Pattaya, Koh Samui and Phuket. For example TG is featuring the Australian tatooed low life who absconded on the hospital and left a massive bill and also an unpaid crash settlement with the Thai party he collided with. Every week in Patong, and Pattaya the police cells hold inebriated buffoons often from Europe, UK and Australia. These events often go unreported unless there is a "scene".
