The swiss is trying to beat aroud the bush. How can a tripped foot kick a person in front. Normally if tripped then the body will fall forward and leg backwards. Unless he skid in which case he would land on his buttock.

I hope he gets kicked out of Thailand, these self-important farang twerps who think they own Thailand annoy me.

They seem to forget they are temporary long-term visitors.

According to Bangkok post, the steps were build on public land not private property. Now the doctor has the right to file a case and strip the Swiss naked

Saw in Thai news confirmed that the steps were indeed on public path and would be removed. Not only that, another news outlet (MCOT) said that former employee at that elephant sanctuary said that it wasn't really a sanctuary. Some elephants were hired to be there for tourism purpose. It's about time authority really look into this business whether those so-called "sanctuary" are indeed running their organisation as a non-profit with conservation purpose (not for profit in disguise).

I don't think there are any proper elephants sanctuary in Phuket

Still there to exploit them

Hope she stands firm in pulling him to court. The Swiss always can come around with $$$$ as compensations. And in any such case hope the Dr will not step back unless the price tag is in millions of baht to make the Swiss bankrupt.

I wonder about this sometimes and think well if they are just carrying a few tourists on their backs, are fed well, and seem OK then it is better than them working in a commercial forest somewhere pulling trees all day long.

Another negative thing about this article is it gives us farangs a bad name, we are not Swiss, German, British, etc we are grouped and called farangs, they do not distinguish between us as you see in the video we are all farangs.

Too many such stories about farangs will put all of us on the hate list.

Just heard the video. What an a****le. Sounds more like a South African pig than a Swiss pig.

The issue is how they get the Elephants to be so compliant

They brutalize them to get to that point

No one should ever ride an elephant

Although doing some research this guy's sanctuary doesn't have any negative remarks from the ethical organizations that track ethical Eleephant sanctuaries

Although didn't have any endorsements either

I could read up, research the topic I suppose to find out the facts but that will not do any good seeing as us farangs have no voice in the country.

I am not complaining or being negative but it is a fact so why waste time.

We, as farangs, certainly have a voice in voting with our feet when it comes to things like this....

And let others know most animal tourist attractions are likely unethical
