Nice one. Sometimes political micromanagement has a positive purpose. Sort out the airport queues PM, take no prisoners, then get onto the BoT and have them drop interest rates to see if we can crash the baht.

Smooth arrival, weak baht, that’ll get the punters in, for sure.

I give the PM credit and respect for looking into the matter himself. It is easy to criticize Thai politicians, but I believe the man is genuine in his efforts. As a frequent user of the airport,  I do notice how bad it has become, in large part because so many pax are devoid of basic manners and do not understand how lines work. That isn't Thailand's fault, but tossing some of these people from a line they cut would help.

It is insufficient to say that BKK functions far better than the typical foreign airport.  The PM is right when he says that BKK must up its  performance if it is to become a regional hub. The gold standard of operations is set by SIN/HND/NRT/ICN and to a lesser extent HKG and Thailand has to make the effort. They can do it.

Efforts to improve or facilitate tourist entry and exit should focus on quality upgrades, not quantity.   Flights into and out of Thailand should be more evenly spaced out to avoid bottlenecks in specific areas I.e.  security checks and immigration.
